How could it be possible - the reality of the graphic at the left? Shown is
someone begging for entry to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. He is
sincerely pleading for mercy because his name was removed from the Book of Life for living in a sin that
was not listed in his Bible.
This is the reality of the frightening consequences of the warning given in Amos 8:11,12. People who are studying from the new versions are not realizing the effect of the thousands of changes being made to the Bibles they are reading. Illustrated below is one of the many categories of doctrinal changes where millions of people are being deceived. They have entered into a relationship which God says will keep them out of Heaven - adultery (which is marrying a second spouse when they have a living one-flesh spouse). They rely upon an erroneous text and/or false understandings to comfort them in their pursuit of a new "marriage" partner. (For a thorough understanding of Matthew 19:9, study articles on our website at www.RestorationOfTheFamily.com or write for our books and pamphlets on this topic.)
There are three major errors involved in the new versions in Matthew 19:9:
1. The authors of the new versions have inserted doctrinal error by incorrectly translating porneia as marital unfaithfulness, immorality, sexual immorality, et al. However, ALL underlying Greek texts have the word porneia, which should be translated fornication (except it be for fornication).
2. The fabricated sin they insert is misinterpreted, making people “think” that this phrase is an escape clause for those who want to abandon a spouse - marital unfaithfulness, etc. (The reality is that many who file for divorce are the ones who are committing adultery - marital unfaithfulness!)
3. Their fabricated sin is not listed in corollary verses to warn people committing these sins that they will not enter the kingdom of Heaven (I Corinthians 6:19 and Galatians 5"19-21). Marital unfaithfulness, immorality, and sexual immorality are not listed in each respective text of the new versions to warn people that such a lifestyle permanently separates them from God - if they do not stop practicing such.
God says that only the physical death of one of the parties can dissolve a
one-flesh marriage. (See Romans 7:2,3; I Corinthians 7:39.)

KING JAMES BIBLE |
|
|
Matthew 19:9 "And I say unto you,
Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication,
and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is
put away doth commit adultery." |
taamuwt mowt mimenuw akaalkaa 4191 4191 4480 398 die thou shalt surely thereof thou eatest "...eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:17) Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." |
|
New versions' authors change fornication, in their English translations, to words which are not in their underlying Greek texts in Matthew 19:9, GREATLY changing doctrine. In corollary Scriptures (I Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, et al.), which warn people who commit such sins that they will not enter the kingdom of God/Heaven, they do not list their "fabricated sin" from Matthew 19:9, thus removing the penalty for that sin. |

NIV (NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION) |
|
|
Matthew 19:9: "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
What is the corollary warning for those who practice marital unfaithfulness in this polluted
version? There is none. Note the fabricated sin (marital
unfaithfulness) is not listed with other "lost" lifestyle
patterns. NIV authors, along with most other authors of the new
versions, also cut "and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth
commit adultery" from Matthew 19:9. |
I Corinthians 6:9,10: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21: "The acts of the sinful nature (should be flesh) are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." |
|
NASV (NEW AMERICAN STANDARD VERSION) |
|
|
Matthew 19:9 "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." (These authors also cut "and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.") |
The term immorality is relative and cultural. |
|
I Corinthians 6:9,10: "... neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers...shall inherit the kingdom of God." (Immorality isn't listed.) Galatians 5:19-21: "Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Fornication is mistranslated and adultery is cut. They add "sexual" to immorality in their footnote.) |

NEW KING JAMES VERSION and |
|
|
Matthew 19:9:
"And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits
adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." |
I Corinthians
6:9-10: "Neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers ... will inherit the kingdom of God." Footnote: "NU-Text omits adultery." They translate adultery, then take it out in their footnote! |
|
New versions' authors also remove covenantbreakers from a list of those with reprobate minds in Romans 1:31. |
